When you love a guarded girl, 

Expect that she will not express her feelings easily. 

In time, she will slowly let you in her comfort zone, 

To understand a guarded girl, you must know and understand her past. 

Knowing someone’s past is a gateway in knowing how to love them, 

She was not born a guarded girl. 

Something in her past happened that she chose to guard herself, 

You must try to respect and understand that about her. 

There will be people that will want to get to know her, 

But, she will be picky with the people she lets in. 

Because she knows what it is like to feel every emotion possible, 

For she has experienced it all. 

If one day a guarded girl completely lets you in, 

Know that it took a lot out of her.
