She Was

She was comfortable inside her mother’s belly,

She was not ready to come out into this world.

She was three days late from her expected arrival,

Her mom was constantly in pain - fighting for her survival.

Year 1997 they had the right tools and people,

Without them, the birth would have been fatal.

Fatal for both mother and daughter,

Because the daughter did not want to come out.

But, the doctors cut her mother open,

Even though this world was full of chaos without a doubt.

All she was able to hear was the sound of the blade,

Cutting her mother’s belly - she was afraid.

A daughter was born,

But her heart was torn.

Now she searches for peace,

Positive energy is what she tries to release,

Inside that girl - was a broken girl.

A girl that was brought into this world,

A world that she did not want to be apart of.
